First REIT launches in Kenya

A Real Estate Investment Trust is a Company that owns or finances income producing real estate. If you are an investor looking for regular income stream, diversification and long term capital appreciation REIT is the way to go. On Thursday, 22^nd October 2015 Stanlib bank owned by South Africa’s Liberty Holdings opened a REIT at the NSE targeting to raise 12.5million dollars for investing in rental properties. Each unit is been offered at Kshs. 20 with investors been required to buy a minimum of 1000 units. Kenya joins South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana.
